About this opportunity
The Department of Defense is conducting an industry day on 24 June 2026 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio for the replacement of Building 65 air compressors, with RSVPs due by 17 June 2026. An additional site visit has been added on 16 June 2026 at 1300 EST due to vendor scheduling conflicts, requiring RSVPs by 14 June 2026.
The Air Force Research Laboratory seeks a complete turnkey replacement of the aging air compressor system, including removal and disposal of two existing Ingersoll Rand Nirvanna compressors and associated dryers and filters. The new system shall consist of two oil-free, air-cooled rotary screw compressors rated minimum 400 CFM at 125 psig each, plus two air-cooled dryers sized for minimum 490 CFM capacity. The contractor must install all piping, valves, electrical connections, and control systems with independent isolation capability for maintenance while maintaining operational redundancy. A master control system with automated lead/lag functionality and Modbus protocol communication is required. Installation must follow a phased approach maintaining continuous facility operations without exceeding four-hour system shutdowns, subject to Government project manager approval. The contractor shall perform manufacturer-recommended startup and commissioning, provide comprehensive training to up to three Government employees for up to four hours on operation and routine maintenance, and deliver Operations and Maintenance manuals. All electrical work must comply with the National Electrical Code and local standards.
Interested contractors should RSVP to daniel.frick.2@us.af.mil and request base passes if needed by the applicable deadline. The industry day is in-person only with no virtual option.
