About this opportunity
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau published a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice to award a follow-on task order for independent audit services to KPMG LLP under its previous contract. The notice approves a $384,000 task order for KPMG to conduct the Bureau's 2020 budget and operations audit, including corrective actions from 2019, budget processes, and controls over its Salesforce program. A market survey identified eight firms capable of performing the work in 2018, and KPMG was previously selected through full and open competition in 2020, but the option year expired requiring this limited sources justification to continue services without further competition.
Notice text
The objective of this performance audit is to review the 2020 CFPB budget and evaluate the effectiveness and results of certain CFPB programs, activities, and functions--using criteria the auditor will independently establish in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) to assess whether CFPB is complying with pertinent laws and regulations, achieving its organizational goals and objectives, and meeting commonly accepted performance measures, best practices and benchmarks. The objective of the budget audit is to evaluate how the budget process addresses costs and use of resources to efficiently and economically achieve program results. The analysis and associated recommendations resulting from this audit, when implemented by CFPB, will help strengthen CFPB audited program operations, reduce costs, inform decision making, and improve CFPB’s accountability to the public and those charged with CFPB governance and oversight.
