About this opportunity
This Special Notice announces two industry days being held by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntington District to provide information to contractors on the Bluestone Phase V project. The industry days will take place on March 4th and 5th, 2019 to discuss requirements for the heavy civil construction work on the Bluestone Dam Mega Dam Safety Project, which is expected to be solicited in late summer 2019.
The industry days have the objective of conducting market research for the upcoming solicitation. The first day on March 4th will include a safety briefing, overview presentation on Phase V construction, and question and answer session, followed by a site visit requiring prior submission of a security information sheet. The second day on March 5th will involve one-on-one meetings with the project delivery team available by reservation. Contractors working under NAICS code 237990 for heavy and civil construction are eligible to attend. Interested offerors must contact Josh Westgate by March 1st to register for a March 5th meeting or advise their intent to attend.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, is currently planning a Bluestone Industry Day for Monday, March 4, 2019, beginning at 11:30 a.m., at the Resident Engineer Office located at 19352 S. State Route 20, Hinton, WV, 25951.
The Bluestone Dam is a concrete gravity dam built in 1948. It is now a Mega Dam Safety Project which will require contractor support over the next Phase (Phase 5). This project is expected to be synopsized and later solicited around the end of summer 2019.
At this Industry Day, We will have a short safety briefing and then proceed to the overlook for a view of the project site. There will be an overall construction briefing and Q & A session.
A site visit will be conducted after the presentation at City Hall. This work fall under the NAICS Code 237990 for heavy, civil work. If you are a contractor under this NAICS code you are welcome to schedule a 1 on 1 meeting. One meeting will be available on Monday March 4th at 4:30 p.m. and more Tuesday March 5th starting at 8:30a.m. The meetings are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.
It is requested that you contact Josh Westgate, Contract Specialist, and PDT member for this project, to reserve a time for your firm to meet with the technical team in closed discussions.
Contact Mr. Westgate no later than Friday, March 1st to register for a session with the technical team, and/or to advise your intent to attend this event.
*Please note that a second Industry Day is scheduled for the following day (March 5th) for 1 on 1 meetings with the project delivery team. Industry Days are for the purpose of market research.

In the attachment section of this posting a Security Information sheet with the email addresses of the security personnel whom the sheet should be sent to. Contact Josh Westgate for instructions.
