About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically the Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 (VISN 02) Network Contracting Office, has issued a Special Notice for a sole source procurement. The notice pertains to the acquisition of eight Slit Lamp LED Conversion Kits for the Albany VA Medical Center in New York. The procurement will be conducted through a non-competitive process with Corps Medical Supply, LLC, which has been identified as the sole responsible source for these specific equipment components. The notice is published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements, specifically FAR 13.106 and FAR 5.101 and 5.203. The procurement falls under the NAICS code 334510 for Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing and Product Service Code 6540 for Ophthalmic Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to communicate the VA's intent to solicit and award a non-competitive purchase of the Slit Lamp LED Conversion Kits. The notice emphasizes that it is not a request for technical or cost proposals, but rather an informational announcement of the intended sole source procurement. The response deadline is June 2, 2025, with the contracting officer Jonathan Kilgore serving as the point of contact. Corps Medical Supply, LLC is a VetCert and SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), which appears to have influenced the sole source determination. The procurement will be implemented under FAR Parts 12 and 13, with the government retaining full discretion in the contract award process. Importantly, the notice stipulates that no funds have been authorized or appropriated for this effort, and any responses will be treated as information only, with no entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs.
