“Questions for Industry”
Question 1: I looked at the updated list of materials. I would like to submit one more question:
Which support length will be required on the Smartnet?
The part numbers that have “SNT” and “SSSNT” in the part numbers, are generic Cisco part numbers and do not actually define the length of support. The options are 1 year, 3 yr and 5-year support. If the government does not specify, it is likely vendors will quote 1yr as it is the cheapest. Since this requirement is asking for 5 year and 7 year lengths of licensing, it is usually suggested by Cisco to keep the support term equal to the licensing term. This is mostly for ease of convenience for the customers so everything is renewed at the same time, but of course, they do not need to be the same if the customer does not want it.
Answer 1: We would like 5 years support length.
