4UnclassifiedNGB148 FW / 179 FSF-16Duluth, MN1Sentry Aloha 17-117223-Jan-174-Feb-17Hickam AFB, HIPurpose: Fulfill 4th/5th Generation Integrated Advanced EA Air to Air training during months which have a historical high rate of weather induced sortie attrition. Establish and accomplish squadron training to meet Secondary DOC statement RAP requirement of Maritime Interdiction and Counter FAC/FIAC missions.

Objectives:

Execute 4th/5th Generation Fighter Integrated Defensive Counter Air TTPs Execute DCA tactics in a heavy EA contested/degraded environment Execute 50% of the 179th FS DCA Primary DOC Statement training requirement for FY17 Accomplish Maritime Interdiction and CFF training requirement Reduce weather induced sortie attrition

Overview:

Historically the 148th FW suffers 42% attrition in flying lines in January. Also, the 148th FW boasts a historical TDY sortie generation/effectiveness rate of over 95%. Aligning our support of Sentry Aloha with the aggressors from Eielson, 148th FW pilots will be able capitalize on low weather attrition, and low red air sorties to execute nearly 50% of the annual Defensive Counter Air sorties required for FY17. This training opportunity will also provide a robust electronic attack environment for pilots to exercise and understand the limitations not only of the Block 50 F-16 weapons system, but integrated capabilities with the F-22. Training opportunities with 5th Generation assets and professional red air are a scarce commodity the 179th FS has the opportunity to leverage. This TDY will also enable the 179th FS to fulfill Maritime training with multi-service assets stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor. Establish a training plan to execute current Maritime Interdiction TTPs and provide feedback to the 16th WPS, 422nd TES, AETC and F-16 community.

Objectives:

Integrate with other ANG F-16 and AD 5th Generation Fighters Emphasize RJ-135 and EA-18G capabilities and TTPs Further investigate and refine SCU/MMC and SADL/Link 16 interoperability 8 30 150 The 179th FS has previously, and will continue to support Northern Lightning Exercise and Volk CRTC impact range and EW range operation. The proximity of the range, and flexibility in planning to align tailored DLOs for our squadron makes this exercise an attractive option for flight lead and instructor upgrades. The 179th FS would like to increase participation by providing an officer for Surface to Air threat replication and SAM-1 responsibilities, as well as augment RTO. The 60 days being requested would be used to facilitate these roles during planning and execution. Additionally, 250 STE days will allow the 179th FS to employ more ordnance and meet Airborne Interdiction secondary DOC statement training requirements and munition allocation for FY-17. It is desired to obtain participation by 5th generation assets to continue to exercise advanced SEAD TTPs.

Initial and Mid Planning conference are planned via VTC. 179th FS would like to attend FPC and execution for 2 pilots at Volk or Madison.CaptJoshua "Banjo" Fellegyjoshua.j.fellegy.mil@mail.mil825725321878872533202329244ColBradley "Divot" Jacksonbradley.a.jackson2.mil@mail.mil82572502187887250Lt ColChristopher Cloutierchristopher.a.cloutier2.mil@mail.mil82572152187887215Noneusaf.mn.148-fw.mbx.ecp@mail.mil
