SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION A - SOLICITATION/CONTRACT FORM

The required response date/time has changed from 05-Jun-2020 11:59 AM to 21-Jul-2020 11:59 AM.

SECTION C - DESCRIPTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS

The following have been modified:

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS

Data Acquisition Unit for Structural Load Floor Requirements

Background: The ERDC-CERL structural load floor is located at the East side of Building 2 at ERDC- CERL in Champaign, IL. The load floor consists of 24 in. thick reinforced concrete, with a system of tunnels and walls below. The floor contains capped bolt holes spaced 3 ft. on center each way. A reaction wall in a vertical box configuration is post-tensioned to the floor and used to mount actuators used for testing. This laboratory was built in 1969 and has been used for numerous tests, but the data acquisition system is out of date and is in need of an upgraded to be compatible with current testing standards. The space allows for multiple test configurations assembled at the North, South and East faces of the reaction wall. Test configurations include lateral (in-plane) and vertical loading of wall panels; out-of-plane lateral loading of wall panels; vertical and lateral loading of columns; three or four point beam bending tests; and lateral or vertical loading of floor diaphragms. To account for the specific data acquisition needs of each test configuration, the data acquisition system must allow for a multitude of signal inputs and sensor types.

The sections below define the existing components that the Government already owns (Section 1) that the components to be supplied by the contractor (Section 2) need to be compatible with to create a functional data acquisition system that will accommodate the data collection and testing conducted on the Structural Load Floor. Installation of the components is NOT required.

1) Existing Sensor Types: The DAQ system shall support sensors of the following type. The following sensors are to assist in defining module input requirements. These sensors are not required as part of this effort.

a. Strain Measurement

i. Strain gauges

1. Gauge lengths: 3 mm, 10 mm, 50 mm, and 150 mm

2. Nominal resistance: 120 ohms

3. Temperature Response: 10.8 ppm/K

4. Number of wires: 2

ii. Strain Transducer

1. Gauge Length: 76.2 mm (3 inches)

2. Nominal Resistance: 350 ohms

3. Excitation Voltage: +1 to +30V AC or DC

4. mV level, ratiometric to excitation voltage

5. Temperature Range: -50 °C to 80 °C

6. Cable: 2 shielded twisted pair (22 awg) with drain wire, 0.187” diameter, red pvc jacket

b. Deflection Measurement

i. Cable potentiometer

1. Cable Length: 2286 mm (80 inches)

2. Excitation Voltage: +1 to +30V AC or DC

3. Output: 0 to 50% of excitation voltage 4.

Linearity: +/- 0.3% to +/-0.15%

5. Temperature Range: -40 °C to 95 °C

6. Cable: 2 shielded twisted pair (22 awg) with drain wire, 0.187” diameter, red pvc jacket

ii. Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT)

1. Travel: 25mm, 50 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm, 150 mm

2. Excitation Voltage: +10 to +30 VDC at 25 mA maximum

3. Temperature Range: -20 °C to 85 °C

4. Bandwidth: 500 Hz

c. Vibration Measurement

i. Accelerometer

1. Type: Uniaxial

2. Range +/- 5 g

3. Differential Sensitivity: 400 mV/g

4. Excitation Voltage: +5 VDC +/- 5%

5. Output: +/- 2 VDC

6. Linearity: +/- 0.3% to +/-0.15%

7. Temperature Range: -50 °C to 80 °C

8. Cable: 2 shielded twisted pair (22 awg) with drain wire, 0.187” diameter, red pvc jacket

2) Data Acquisition (DAQ) System Requirements to be supplied by the contractor:

The contractor shall provide a DAQ system consisting of a central unit and connection capabilities that will support the sensors defined above.

a. The DAQ Unit shall accommodate the following:

i. Electrical requirements: 120 VAC, 60 AMP, NEMA 5-15P connector

3. (10) Modules with a total of 40 channels that include multi-pin connectors and BNC connectors

4. (4) 78 pin connector modules that supports additional channels.

5. Supports at least 24 strain gauges or 24 thermal couples (System to include connections and signal conditioning)

iii. Integrated computer screen for visual display during data collection

iv. Temperature Requirement: 10 °C - 40 °C

v. Humidity Requirement: 10-90%, Non-condensing

vi. Shock Limits: Meets MIL-STD 810F

vii. Vibration Limits: Meets MIL-STD 810F
