REQUEST FOR INFORMATION:

QUESTION 1: Which codes are we required to follow?

RESPONSE 1: Please refer to Part 3.2. of the Statement of Work, "The Contractor shall install the heating systems and components in accordance with the applicable Massachusetts Building Codes and the Manufacturer's Recommendations and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 54, the National Fuel Gas Code."

QUESTION 2: Are as-builts available to better understand the location of underground utilities in the dig area?

RESPONSE 2: Original as-builts have been included in the Revised Attachments, but interested vendors should note that the as-builts are not up to date and underground utility locations may differ from the as-builts provided.

QUESTION 3: Have alternative tank placement locations been considered to avoid interfering with existing electrical lines?

RESPONSE 3: An acceptable alternative location for tank placement has been depicted in the Revised Attachments with a blue star.

QUESTION 4: Does it matter where exactly on the slope west of the project office utility room the tank is installed?

RESPONSE 4: An acceptable alternative location for tank placement has been depicted in the Revised Attachments with a blue star.

QUESTION 5: The location of the propane tank seems to be in the retention pond area, is that correct?

Since it is in an area of potential flooding, are there any hold down requirements for the tank?

RESPONSE 5: The area in question is not a retention pond (it has never had water in it, and the soil is very well drained, with a culvert running out of it for drainage). With that said, due to the nature of it being a flood control project, the tank should be anchored under NFPA 58. Please refer to the revised Statement of Work for anchoring requirements.

QUESTION 6: Is cathode protection required for the underground propane tank?

RESPONSE 6: Yes, requirements for cathodic protection for the propane tank in accordance with NFPA 58 have been included in the revised Statement of Work.
