Otis ANG – Questions on B168/DGS

28. Since the X-09 is unlocked all the time, how is the door locked? Can you just open the SCIF door without using the keypad or is there an electronic lock that I didn't notice?

a. You cannot open the door from the outside without using the badge and PIN. The one exception is that there is a key that can open the door in an emergency or power failure scenario, but the key’s access is very limited. We are using the electric hinges here which I’m pretty sure is how the door is secured and only unlocked by a successful badge and PIN entry.

29. What is the age of the UPS, does this need to be updated, too?

a. As far as I know, it is as old as the original install which was around 2008 or there about.
