18 July 2019 Questions and Answers #1
1. Q: I’m a bit confused about our scope of work for this….it appears that it sits very close to another building; I am assuming that is the source of the comm and power. If this is an armory, however, by regulation, it needs more than just a duress button – it needs BMS on all movable openings and PIR for interior motion coverage. Also, it should have its own IG2 panel and keypad to arm/disarm. Can you explain (or get an explanation for) what the expectations are vs. regulatory requirements? Also, how will the camera connect to the VMS system? Through that building? Is there a conduit path from the armory to the comm room? I need a floor plan of that building showing me that path – also need the name and number of the building.
A: The above question should be addressed in the attached drawing (secured in FBO, please email me if you are not able to gain access and I will get them to you after vetted by security) as well as the below response:
The sensor in question (BMS, PIR, and IG2) came pre-installed and only needs to be powered and comm connected. The duress button and camera are the two add on items that advantor will need to supply and install. The PWS tells where they will be installed and both will be connected to the comm room in the building. A floor plan will be provided to the contractor so they can get an idea of how they are going to run their conduit to connect everything to the comm room. Advantor engineers have already installed the sensors and alarm panel so they should have a drawing matching the ARMAG container (Mobile Armory) serial# 9555-01. The building number is 205 and is the Visitor’s center.
