MULTIPLE COOLING SYST BASE WIDE

QUESTION AND ANSWERS 1-4

7 AUGUST 2018

1. Does the Government have an onsite storage facility for all equipment and job specific materials the contractor can use or have access to during the 45 day work period?

a. Answer – The government can provide non-conditioned inside space on base for the temporary storage of mechanical units only. Other supplies and materials must be stored and staged off base. The government will also allow the contractor to stage a trailer or container on base for this purpose. Location of trailer will be coordinated after award.

2. Lead times on mechanical and electrical equipment has been found to be 6-8 weeks. Will the

Government accept bids with this expectation stated if work can be commenced and completed within the 45-day expectation upon receipt of equipment, and will the government amend the

(POP) of contract to account for these lead times?

a. Answer – the period of performance for this project will be 120 days, not 45 days. The

120 days includes equipment lead times.

3. Can the Government provide onsite perminate disposal for any soil or concrete that needs to be removed?

a. The government can accept soil on site. Concrete must be removed from site at contractor’s expense.

4. It was mentioned that there may be an update to the required period of performance if requested. Upon examination of the project, it appears that 45 days will likely be too short of a period of time to both order equipment and perform the required installation/repair. Can we please lengthen the period of performance to either 90 or 120 days?

a. Answer- Refer to Q&A paragraph 2(a)
