ADAL Questions
Amendment 2
24 August 2016
1. Does the term install means Supply and Install? Or the government has a new package that the contractor will install?
2. That is correct. Throughout the SOW in ALL locations the term install means that the contractor will supply and install the materials and/or equipment described.
Amendment 3
6 September 2016
3. For the MR board replacement in restrooms of dorm rooms, to what extent do we need to figure new board? How many new boards per dorm room? Do we need to figure any touch up of existing finishes in each dorm room?
Answer: MR Board replacement is to occur in the shower stall only and will be required floor to deck. Remaining restroom finishes to remain as existing. The repair area in each of the restrooms is limited to the shower only. With that information, contractors should be able to calculate required amount of material to repair showers as specified. Touch ups will be required for all finishes damaged by construction activities. Pre-existing damage is not required to be repaired by the contractor.
4. The 2 new walls we are to build in the hallway, it says we need to patch back acoustical ceilings at the new walls. What ceiling materials need to be used? Type of ceiling tile?
Answer: Contractor shall match existing suspension ceiling within that area. Per Section 1.10
Performance, it is the contractor's responsibility to acquaint themselves with all available information from including physical survey of the site of the proposed work.
5. On AF-1 and AF-3, it says drywall repair at cove removed with a question mark after it. Do we need to figure drywall repair at those cove locations?
Answer: Referenced question mark was not found when reviewing SOW, however site investigation by the contractor can easily validate existing conditions to identify whether or not minor repairs are required to properly install new cove base. Any damage occurring from the demo of existing cove base will be the contractor's responsibility to repair.
6. Other than the new walls, MR board in dorm room restrooms, and possible touchup at cove locations, is there any other work in this project you would need us to do?
Answer: All project requirements are specified within the SOW.
Amendment 4
7 September 2016
7. Can you verify the size of the new canopy? We measured 22w x 23l x 12h.
Answer: Disregard canopy dimensions listed in SOW. As stated above the new canopy is approximately 22w x 23l x 12h. Contractor shall field verify dimensions.
