2ND SITE VISIT MEETING MINUTES FOR

INSTALL MASTER SHUTOFF SWITCH TO EXHISTING HVAC SYSTEM

Project # TDVG 172380 Alpena CRTC, MI 49707

Members from the CRTC:

Capt Michael Rivera, Deputy Base Civil Engineer (DBCE) MSgt Aaron Bradby, Base Contracting Officer (BCO) TSgt Thomas Emery, Base Contract Administrator (BCA) Mr. Jim McCraven, CE Project Manager (Contractor)

Contractor/Vendor Attendees:

JoAnne Gareau, ONeil Contractors Chris Minidis, WindemullerInc.

Introductions began in the Civil Engineering conference room at approximately 1010 and a physical visit of some of the buildings in the requirement followed shortly after.

Mr. McCraven passed out a map of the buildings on the base and explained general information about the project and how its satisfactory completion is important to the bases anti-terrorism policy and overall CRTC mission.

Questions & Answers:

1) Is the requirement to connect the switches directly to the unit/control circuit?

a. Yes. 90% of the units are Siemens brand for all others the intent is to connect directly to the HVAC/ heating unit itself.

2) Does the Gov want only one shut-off switch per unit?

a. Yes.

3) Plenum wire to be used?

a. Yes.

4) Location of the switch itself to be in the building entrance or in the foyer?

a. Inside of the building entrance/exit.

5) Was lead/asbestos testing done?

a. Yes. The report can be provided upon request.

The BCO made an important statement to the contractors at the beginning and near the end of the site visit in reference to differing site conditions. A total of 47 buildings in this project require a master shut-off switch. In the interest of time CE scheduled buildings 2, 250, 360, 490, one single dorm building and one double dorm building for the site visit. After the final building was shown the BCO clarified that all buildings under this requirement was available for view during this visit or accommodations would be made if multiple site visits (within reason) were needed to ensure contractors had time to inspect every building before the solicitation closed. None of the contractors showed interest in viewing any of the other buildings at that time and the site visit was closed at approximately noon.
