Fan Questions and Answers:
1. The specks show three fans on one circuit. The loads are low so one breaker will supply enough voltage for the circuit BUT if there is a fault in one ALL three will be off line until isolated. To prevent this possible event EACH FAN should be fused ether by disconnect or individual breaker and thus contactor. This will impact the overall design, and cost of installation.
ANSWER: See updated drawing and statement of work.
2. Does the system in place have a set of Dry Contacts ( Auxiliary ) contacts. That would make things a little simpler. They will have to be rated for 120vac minimal amperage, just heavy enough to Handle the coil amperage of the contactors.
ANSWER: See updated drawing and statement of work.
3. Provide the exact dimensions of the Red Iron to insure the mounting hardware is appropriate size.
ANSWER: See updated drawing and statement of work.
4. We will need to know the control Voltage of the Fire Panel. If the control Point in the Fire Panel is Low Voltage ( 24 vac ) because of the distances the voltage drop will need to be mediated by the installation of a relay to send 120vac to the control points.
ANSWER: See updated drawing and statement of work.
5. I did not see in the drawings or specks the use of a disconnect at point of use for each fan. They will be needed for potential service. A lock out at point of service would not be practical because of the distance and line of site. A service disconnect at point of use would be safer. A lock out for the control could be complicated and costly. There are several methods which could be utilized which could be costly. The simplest method would be the use of S.O. cord and 480vac rated twist locks.
ANSWER: See updated drawing and statement of work.
