Questions and Responses from Airport Park Restroom #2 Site Visit 23JUNE2022

1 Current RFP walls have stainless steel edging and trim. Will they be re-used, replaced, or replaced with other material (wood, plastic, etc.)?

GOV Response: Section 1.4.2.1.4 Interior states “replace with new white FRP paneling, molding, and caps…”. FRP or a trim specifically designed for FRP walls is preferred.

2 Specs toward the end of the contract state very specific urinal type, contradicts the specs section stating to use like/similar style urinal.

GOV Response: The section being referred to is in place as guidance for specifications should those items be requested in section 1.4.2.1.2 Plumbing, which states “Replace all toilet fixtures/urinals and associated flush valves with similar fixtures”. Since the current urinal is a flush-less design the same design should be installed.

3 Mounting plates under toilets will need to be replaced. Not mentioned in the contract. Recommending Galvanized steel, consider long lead times.

GOV Response: This recommendation is addressed in Amendment 01 section

1.4.2.1.2 Plumbing.

4 Exterior header board is damaged in areas, recommending replacement. If so recommend replacing all header boards. Stain or paint?

1.4.2.1.3 Exterior.

5 Suggest removing divider wall in pipe chase for easier access to plumbing.

Would need to build a platform over old vault opening in the floor.

1.4.2.1.4 Interior.
