QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q1. Please clarify attachment TE-1 Building Number 1720 has (6) hoist in it that are 1 ton?

Building Number 1320 has (2) hoist in it that are 5 ton?

Building Number 1170 has (7) hoist in it that are 35 ton?

Is this what the Hoist # means?

A1. See TE #1 the load ratings are noted in the column titled "Load Rate (tons)", 3rd from right. The load ratings all fall into 3 categories: 0 - 2.5 tons, 2.6 - 7.5 tons and over 7.6 tons which also reflect the CLIN structure. For example, Building 1720 has one 1 ton hoist, two 5 ton hoists and two 25 tons hoist and one non-functioning 10 ton hoist. Hoist numbers are used to identify the hoists in buildings with more than one hoist.

Q2. Who is to supply the test weights for the load tests?

A2. Per paragraph 1.4 in the PWS on page 1, "The Contractor shall provide management, equipment (to include man lift and weights), material, transportation, instruments (to include weights)," etc...

Q3. Who is to supply access equipment?

A3. See paragraph listed above in 1.4 of the PWS , "The Contractor shall provide management, equipment (to include man lift and weights), material, transportation, instruments (to include weights)," etc... Also in 5.3.6 of the PWS it states in part "The Contractor must have available all equipment needed to access hoists positioned less than 50' above the ground such as ladders, bucket trucks, man lifts, mobile lift devices, etc..."

Q4. The PWS Part 5. Item 5.1 States “The contractor shall provide one semiannual inspection per contract year and one additional semiannual inspection that includes an annual load test to each overhead hoist listed in TE-1” Section SF 1449- Continuation sheet Item No 0004 States “Provide quarterly inspections” then carries this out for the rest of the sections.

Which way should we quote this?

A4. All CLINS will be corrected to reflect semi annual inspections
