About this file
This specification section outlines closeout submittal requirements for a federal construction contract to install waterway signs at the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The contractor must provide as-built drawings, record drawings, shop drawings, construction specifications, and final geospatial data in an ESRI file geodatabase following all required standards for metadata, attribution, and formatting. Closeout submittals are due within 45 days of government approval of working drawings or 15 days after substantial completion and include final approved shop drawings, the data management plan, record specifications, and a clean site. The contractor must maintain as-built markup drawings weekly and make them available on-site, incorporating all revisions and redlining all changes from the original contract drawings.
The related federal opportunity is a solicitation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District seeking bids for a waterway signs project at the Soo Locks. The fixed-price construction contract valued between $500,000-$1,000,000 includes installing new signs, frames, and a warning sign. The NAICS code is 237990 and bids are due through www.sam.gov. The solicitation will follow FAR Part 14 and the government intends to make award based on sealed bids. Final Q&A will be via amendment before the response date.
