SECTION SF 1449 - CONTINUATION SHEET
ANSWER QUESTIONS
1. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions that were asked by vendors and to extend the closing date
2. The closing date will change from September 4, 2020 to September 11, 2020.
Question 1. Can you please provide the current value of the contract (annual expenditure) or total dollars spent to date for the current contract (assuming it to was a 5 year contract).
Answer 1. There is not a current contract in place.
Question 2. Section 1.2.1.4 of the SOW states that “the contractor shall provide weekly service visits and testing of water in 10 cooling tower systems and 2 loop water systems. The contractor will cover as many systems as possible on each visit and complete 100% testing within a6 week period. Section 1.2.1.7 then states that “The contractor shall provide on a monthly basis a written report of the testing and analysis over the past month.”
Given the fact that there are 16 Boilers, 14 Cooling Towers and 20 Closed Loops, can you please confirm the specific frequency of testing of each system? Also, if we are to be getting all systems tested within a 6 week period, shouldn’t the report be issued every 6 weeks versus monthly? Lastly, if we are able to get all systems tested in say 3-4weeks, well before the 6 week requirement, are we still required to have a technician show up on site those remaining 2-3 weeks?
Answer 2. The weather may determine how many times each system needs testing and chemicals.
Such as cold weather will require boilers to run more which will require more chemicals. Yes, all system within a 6 week period. A 6 week report will be fine. . Some people track better monthly. The goal is to have a water treatment program. If contractor gets job done quicker than 6 weeks they do not have to be on site.
Question 3. Can you please provide a list of the company(s) that attended the site visit?
Answer 3. The Federal Government cannot provide that information.
QUESTIONS 4. Can we get copies of the Mil Spec for the Cooling and Boiler Water Treatment?
