QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AFTER ISSUANCE OF
1 JUNE 2017 DRAFT SOLICITATION
Question #1:
Can the existing case base and seal be reworked to accommodate the new spring disc design or are we required to replace the case base and seal with a new part?
USG Response #1:
The case base and seals shall be reworked. This is included in the newest revision of the Statement of Work (SOW).
Question #2:
How many cartridge lots will be received? If there is more than one lot included, will re-blending of all the propellant be required or is each propellant lot required to remain separated and the effort will require multiple LATs, one for each propellant lot?
USG Response #2:
Re-blending of the propellant will not be required. The original propellant lot shall be returned to the new suffixed lot.
Question #3:
Should the contractor assume an attrition percentage for ammunition containers for replacement by the contractor, or will the government provide additional containers?
USG Response #3:
It is expected that with a typical cleaning and touch up process, there should be enough containers provided to meet the deliverable requirement.
Question #4:
How will general attrition (example: component parts, projectiles, etc.) be handled? Will the government define an allowable attrition rate in the formal RFP?
USG Response #4:
Yes, attrition will be addressed in the formal RFP.
Question #5:
Should demil of all scrap be proposed?
USG Response #5:
The formal RFP will include demil/disposal requirements.
