About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing contractor inquiries regarding restroom renovation work at an Air National Guard (ANG) facility.
The project involves renovating two restrooms with several key requirements: both restrooms must undergo simultaneous construction per an aggressive timeline, and the building will remain occupied during work with plastic sheeting used for debris containment. Working hours are Monday through Thursday, 0700-1730. Contractors must provide a portable restroom for use during construction. For Restroom 1, the ACT ceiling will be retained with existing ceiling grids and tiles reused (replacement tiles available on-hand if needed). Both restrooms require new LED lighting fixtures that match. Existing wall-mounted exhaust fans must be removed and replaced with ceiling-mounted fans, with exhaust routed through the east wall or east wall soffit with no roof penetrations; spaces where wall fans are removed must be filled. The old doorway into the conference room must be closed with cinderblock to match existing walls. A light switch at Bathroom #1 should be relocated to the wall opposite the new door swing for accessibility. Surface-mounted electrical conduits are acceptable where compliance with buried conduit requirements is impossible due to filled brick cells. Where the exterior vent brick is being removed, the replacement brick should match as closely as possible. A layout of Restroom 1 and a building blueprint are attached as references.

The specifications for the exhaust fan seem to be based on a ceiling mounted fan that is much quieter.
