About this file
This is an amendment to the solicitation for the 137th SOW Building 1001 Renovation Project. The amendment incorporates questions and answers from a Request for Information to clarify project details. Specifically, it provides specifications for a new variable air volume box including voltage, controls, reheat type, and required airflow. Finishes for certain areas are also defined. The full text of Federal Acquisition Regulation clause 52.236-3 is included to underscore the contractor's responsibility to properly investigate the site conditions prior to bid submission. The performance period is noted as mandatory. The amendment aims to ensure bids are based on accurate understanding of project requirements.

RFI Q&A
Request for Information (RFI’s) Question & Answers
Due Date for RFI’s was 14 August 2023 below are the questions received and answers.
1. Sheet M-102 appears to indicate a new VAV box. Sheet MD-101 appears to show demolishing the VAV box in the same location - FPVAV-5. If a new VAV box is required, we will need specs:
specifically, the voltage, type of controls, type of reheat, and CFM requirement. If we are instead just reusing the existing VAV, please verify that is the case.
Answer: Voltage is 120-208 fed from panel L2 breaker 22. Controls is DDC johnson controls. Reheat is from a boiler system. Contractor to generate the reqirementfor the CFM based on the additional square footage of the combined rooms "-Remove and resize the VAV that currently serves room A114 to accommodate the additional square footage of the two combined rooms." pulled from the SOW
2. We also need the CFM requirement for the air devices for the entire sheet for testing and balancing purposes.
Answer: The new combined square footage shall be calculated and provided before final installation however the government estimates 800 CFM with a ¼ horse power motor is needed . Please see the attachment M-201 Current CFM.pdf
3. Finishes in certain areas that are not called out to match surrounding areas are listed as TBD.
Have the finishes been decided upon.
Answer: Carpet tile: Shaw Kasuri Tile EW 24/5T046, Cove base: Flexco Chocolate brown, Wall paint: Latex Egg- Shell SW-7016 Mindful grey, Door frames: DTM Acrylic Semi-Gloss SW- 7041 Van Dyke Brown, Ceiling tile:

52.236-3 SITE INVESTIGATION AND CONDITIONS AFFECTING THE WORK (APR 1984)
(a) The Contractor acknowledges that it has taken steps reasonably necessary to ascertain the nature and location of the work, and that it has investigated and satisfied itself as to the general and local conditions which can affect the work or its cost, including but not limited to
(1) conditions bearing upon transportation, disposal, handling, and storage of materials;
(2) the availability of labor, water, electric power, and roads;
(3) uncertainties of weather, river stages, tides, or similar physical conditions at the site;
(4) the conformation and conditions of the ground; and (5) the character of equipment and facilities needed preliminary to and during work performance. The Contractor also acknowledges that it has satisfied itself as to the character, quality, and quantity of surface and subsurface materials or obstacles to be encountered insofar as this information is reasonably ascertainable from an inspection of the site, including all exploratory work done by the Government, as well as from the drawings and specifications made a part of this contract. Any failure of the Contractor to take the actions described and acknowledged in this paragraph will not relieve the Contractor from
W50S8T23B0004 responsibility for estimating properly the difficulty and cost of successfully performing the work, or for proceeding to successfully perform the work without additional expense to the Government.
(b) The Government assumes no responsibility for any conclusions or interpretations made by the Contractor based on the information made available by the Government. Nor does the Government assume responsibility for any understanding reached or representation made concerning conditions which can affect the work by any of its officers or agents before the execution of this contract, unless that understanding or representation is expressly stated in this contract.
