PJMS192026 Repair Emergency Diesel Generators RFI 1.) The offer standard form 1442 , box#10 lists the NAICS code # 237210 which is a code for the subdividing of land. The work described in this solicitation is the replacement of electrical generators. Wouldn’t the correct code be NAICS # 238210 ? The offer is classified as NAICS 238210 per Beta Sam.

2.) B2072: Is the existing generator capable of supplying power to the building? Yes 3.) B2072: Can you provide a One-Line diagram showing the location of the BGE “double throw switch”? See attached 4.) B2072: “at no time will this building be without power” Is it acceptable to schedule short outages (less than 8 hours) to connect and disconnect the temporary generator? Yes 5.) B2072: “Fill fuel tank prior to testing factory load bank test” Do you want a factory load bank test or a field load bank test? Field tested 6.) B2072: Is the new generator going to utilize the pad of the ex. Generator? Yes 7.) B4200: Please provide a one-line diagram of the proposed work for this building to avoid any misunderstanding of the descriptions found in 2.1.2. through 2.1.3. There is no drawing available.

8.) B4200: “Deactivate fire pump” Is the fire pump feed being deleted? No 9.) B4200: What will the new generator feed? See SOW addendum 10.) B4200: “at no time will the building be without power” The existing generator only fed a fire pump and it seems that fire pump is being decommissioned. Is a temporary generator necessary for this portion of the project? See SOW addendum 11.) B4200: “..install a trench from existing 400A disconnect to existing generator location” Where is the ex. 400A disconnect shown on the one-line drawing? What is the ex. 400A disconnect being fed by and what is it feeding to? See SOW addendum 12.) B4200: “…and tie on to a separate 400A breaker” Where is this breaker shown on the one-line? Is it on the new generator? Is it in an existing panel? Why is the breaker 400A when the generator is only 125kW. Size to amperage needed.

13.) B4200: “temporary generator power included for duration of HQ generator replacement and HQ electrical alterations” What would the temporary generator feed? See SOW addendum

1. Since the only loads from both generator locations that are currently operational is the building with the fire pump is that the only concern to have temp generator power during the construction? No

2. Is that same generator operational? The 60Kw generator in not operational. The 130Kw generator is operational.

3. Since both generators can be isolated from utility power via disconnects located within the existing building original design and ATSs will not be replaced I do not see a reason to involve the power company. Is there another reason to involve the power company? This will be discussed after award.

4. A crane will need to be used to replace one of the 2 generators located on grass. Are there any issues to the area other than grass we should be concerned with? Loose top soil, underground structures, etc? No, but the contractor shall create a crane plan to get a crane permit from MAA. MDANG will submit to MAA.

5. Will miss utility actually come on to the base when called to mark the area between the disconnect and generator or should we contact an independent contractor to locate the underground utilities?? The vendor is responsible for coordinating all contractors and/or miss utility to locate underground utilities.

6. A full test using load banks connected to the new generators will be done. A standard 4 hour with slow increment increases to a max of 80% load rating of the generators output breaker. Will that suffice for load banking? Must meet industry standard….

7. Is the existing conduit and wire for the support circuits like block heater, battery charger, and annunciation be adequate for use for the new generators? Yes

8. We are going to extend the wires from the stand by disconnect located outside next to the existing generator to the new generator to power the ASCO ATS located in the building. Are there start wires already installed in the ASCO ATS to trigger start independent of the fire pump or will that conduit and wires need to be installed? See SOW addendum.

9. Before work can start a detailed drawings will need to be created. Will those need to be highly detailed drawings or a computer generated drawing detailing the flow of work to be performed? Similar to construction drafts? Do the drawings need to be signed off by a PE? No. Provide red line drawings.

10. Since I do not see a specific manufacturer for the 125 KW generator will a specific model be requested? The same for the 60 KW. Can we offer an alternative manufacturer or do we need to only provide Kohler? The generator must be a Kohler generator.
