Ramps Questions and Answers

· Q1-The requirement states that the ramps can be no thicker than 4”. My ramps are 6” thick. As such, I can make my ramps longer and provide a capacity greater than what it being asked for. Thus, fewer ramp pieces are needed and they are stronger. The ramps I make of the 6” thick tubes can be stored in a storage container which will allow the container to be transported on a 463L cargo pallet which holds items like this during transport inside the cargo aircraft. Are 6” thick ramps acceptable. If not, why not?

a. A1- The thickness of the ramps requirement has been removed. 6” tubes are acceptable. The ramps in the entirety of the kit will need to fit inside an ISU 90 for storage and transport.

· Q2-What is the overall length of ramp needed?

a. A2- The ATTLA cert for a 50T lowboy does not mention a specific length, only a max angle. See answer below.

· Q3-What is the shallowest load angle that needs to be achieved in loading up equipment.

a. 3A Per the ATTLA cert for a 50T lowboy: Approach Shoring: Minimum recommended dimensions for 4˚ approach angle. Requirements for other configurations are in the applicable aircraft loading manual.

· Q4-Is a middle run of ramps for a helicopter tail wheel needed? If so, is the capacity and width of the ramp needed the same? What does the overall length of this middle run need to be?

b. 4A Middle run not needed.

· Q5-Can a diagram of what is being sought be provided?

a. 5A No. There is no diagram
