About this file
This document outlines the salient characteristics for an Airlift Modular Approach Shoring kit. The kit must be capable of loading various self-propelled vehicles and towed trailers with a minimum tire diameter of 24 inches onto C-130, C-17, and C-5 aircraft as well as all LCACs and JHSVs. When fully loaded, no pressure on aircraft or ship cargo floors can exceed 50 pounds per square inch. Each left and right ramp component assembly has a maximum weight of 26,000 pounds and dimensions of 36 inches wide with two stainless steel carry handles on each side. All stands must be equipped with two steel rods to pin components together. The ramp assembly has a non-slip surface. The kit must be modular to assemble in various lengths from 130 to 788 inches and heights from 0 to 55 inches. All contact surfaces must have smooth belting bonded securely. All components require ATTLA certification and compliance with various international wood packaging standards. The rated capacity cannot exceed 50% of failure strength with at least a 2:1 safety factor. Welding will be done by AWS-certified welders at an AWS-certified shop. Pins, clips and other hardware must be tethered to prevent foreign object debris. The entire kit must fit within a single ISU-90 container.
