Answers to Bidders Questions
1. In SOW, Sections 1.1, 2.4 and the drawings, there are references to striping paint and the color, but we cannot locate what type of paint is to be used on this project. Can you clarify?
Answer: The government requires the use of a thermoplastic paint markings and should be non-reflective.
2. During the site visit, it was mentioned that only the existing wheelstops were to be removed and reset? Can you confirm that this is the case and no new or additional wheelstops are to be added?
Answer: That is correct. The contractor is not to purchase or install any new wheelstops. The contractor is to remove the existing wheelstops and place to the side to re-install after paving and/or painting is complete. The government asks the contractor to be careful during the removal process of the wheelstops, but understands if a few get cracked or broken during removal and installation.
If cracked, the contractor is to place back as best they can for installation.
3. Please confirm that the paved sidewalks behind the existing wheelstops are not to be milled and repaved as discussed during the site visit.
Answer: That is correct. The contractor is not to concern themselves with the paved sidewalks behind the existing wheelstops. Although the sidewalks are not in the best shape, the contractor is to simply mill and pave the parking lot and ignore the sidewalk area.
4. How much is the bid bond percentage?
Answer: 20% as stated in the solicitation FAR Clause 52.228-1
