Q25: Per the 8/7/20 Site Walk, the Existing Systems have been replaced with a LIKE FOR LIKE AHU. This AHU is designed for the existing space. Per the e RFI Responses that was developed from the initial site walk and received the morning of the second site walk there is a discrepancy and space issue that would be created due to the RFI Response.
Confirm the interior space pak units are to be replaced with new exact replacement units?
Questions posted on 08-06-2020. A3 - No, the replacements must be 18 seer or higher.
To use any outdoor unit that is above 18 SEERS would be a waste of time due to the fact the match would not achieve that desired 18 SEER ARI Rating. The best that can be achieved due to the evaporator coil size of the existing allowable AHU Space, even with a variable speed AHU would not surpass 15 – 16 SEERS.
If the RFI is to be followed to then an equipment manufacture direct match OR CONVENTIONAL AHU would have to be used and this would create a space issue and require work to expand the existing mechanical room closet. Also, a redesign of the duct work would have to be completed.
PLEASE ADVISE THE COURSE OF ACTION THAT IS TO BE FOLLOWED.
A25: Please refer to the revised SOW dated 14 August 2020 in reference to the change in the SEER rating requirements.
