Vendors Conference – Questions and Answers Sprinkler Head Replacement Project (300 Heads) Q1: What is the procedure for contractors on the first day? Are face masks required upon entry?

A: Face masks are not currently required, as the facility is not in outbreak status. Should that status change, contractors will be notified in advance and required to wear both face masks and face shields in accordance with facility protocol.

Q2: Will contractors be escorted throughout the facility, or will keys be provided?

A: The facility has two stationed engineers who will escort contractors during the initial phase of the project. As work progresses and the engineers gain confidence in the contractor's familiarity with the facility, contractors may work independently. The engineers have other ongoing projects and cannot provide continuous escort. If assistance is needed at any point, contractors may contact the administrative secretary, who will coordinate with the engineering staff.

Q3: Our company is registered for prevailing wage. Do we simply submit certified payroll?

A: Yes. If your company is registered under prevailing wage requirements, please submit your certified payroll documentation in accordance with standard prevailing wage compliance procedures.

Q4: Why is there a sudden switch to institutional sprinkler heads?

A: The decision to transition to institutional-grade sprinkler heads is based on the facility's past experience. Institutional heads have demonstrated superior performance and durability within this environment, and the switch is being made to better align with the long-term operational needs of the facility.

Q5: Has the facility considered conducting operational testing outside of the standard 50-year replacement date?

A: Yes, this has been explored. However, the facility has not had successful results with operational testing outside of the standard replacement timeline, and the decision has been made to proceed in accordance with the established schedule.

Q6: Who currently services the facility's sprinkler system, and do they also perform inspections?

A: The facility's sprinkler system is currently serviced by Absolute Fire Protection. They also perform the required inspections as part of their service agreement.
