Bid prices must remain firm for the 24-month contract period. A bid bond or certified check equal to 5 percent of the annual contract value is required as a good faith deposit. Contractors must submit original signed proposals with two copies, including all required attachments: a proposal form with pricing, business references (preferably schools), a familial relationship disclosure statement, an Iran Linked Business Affidavit, and compliance certification regarding Michigan school code requirements. The contractor is responsible for all container maintenance, annual power washing and painting, replacement of damaged or unfit containers at no cost to the district, and proper disposal of refuse at approved landfills. Insurance requirements include Workers Compensation coverage of $100,000 liability and $1,000,000 in vehicle, property damage, and public liability coverage. The district reserves the right to reject any or all bids, award to other than the lowest bidder, suspend work, or terminate the contract for noncompliance with specifications or failure to maintain service schedules.
