About this file
This federal solicitation seeks a general contractor to upgrade critical infrastructure systems at multiple buildings of the Hot Springs VA Medical Center campus in South Dakota. Key project elements include demolishing over 14,000 phone line pairs; upgrading electrical panels, emergency generators, and HVAC systems; renovating space; migrating from 50 IT closets to 29 telecommunications rooms; upgrading data cabling and fiber backbone; and performing hazardous material abatement. Offerors must minimize downtime for medical and security systems while renovating and phase work over multiple shifts. The technical complexity is high given the need to upgrade critical systems while maintaining operations. The solicitation identifies 20 campus buildings in the project scope.
