About this file
This is a Statement of Work/Requirements Document for the procurement of vertical sheet storage racks by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Fabrication Technology Group. NIST seeks to acquire two (2) new roll-out sheet racks with heavy-duty steel construction to store and manage sheet metal materials in a laboratory environment at NIST's Gaithersburg, Maryland facility (Building 304). The racks must meet specific technical specifications including drawer dimensions of 52" x 48", accommodation of 48" x 48" materials, overall dimensions of 71" width (with floor plates), 105" depth (open), and 96" height, with 13 drawers spaced 3" apart and a load capacity of 5,000 pounds UDL per drawer. The system must feature a fixed frame with roll-out drawers, be engineer load-rated, stable to prevent tipping, and comply with NIST safety and laboratory standards. The contractor is responsible for delivery via FOB Destination, installation, demonstration, schematic drawings, and a minimum one-year warranty commencing upon government acceptance.
The contractor must deliver the fully installed racks and schematic drawing within 14 weeks of order receipt, with shipment required within 60 days. Installation at NIST facilities must include uncrating, rigging, setup, demonstration of all specifications, and trash removal, with onsite work at Building 304 during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm Eastern Time). NIST will inspect and accept or reject equipment within 10 working days of receipt, with performance testing to verify slot spacing, capacity, and stability under load. Payment is 100 percent upon installation completion and NIST Technical Point of Contact acceptance, with Net 30-day terms following receipt of a proper invoice. Partial shipments and invoices are not acceptable unless pre-approved by the Contracting Officer. The contractor employee must comply with NIST safety regulations, security requirements (identification badges and vehicle registration), and confirm shipment with designated government officials prior to any delivery.
