About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the overhaul and repair of Carver Pump Company centrifugal pump/motor assemblies used on U.S. Coast Guard 154-foot Coastal Patrol Boats (Work Item 4320-01-616-3840). The SOW specifies comprehensive overhaul requirements including receipt inspection, disassembly, cleaning, parts replacement, testing, painting, preservation, packaging, and shipping of a single pump/motor assembly (Model 3x3x8, 50 GPM, 1775 RPM) with an estimated government-furnished property cost of $40,000 per unit plus $450 for a reusable shipping crate. The contractor must complete a Condition Found Report (CFR) within ten business days of receipt detailing inspection findings and estimated repair costs, with no further work proceeding until the Coast Guard Contracting Officer provides written authorization.
The SOW mandates that all replacement parts be new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) components only, with mandatory items including bearings/bushings, seals, gaskets, stainless steel zerk fittings, grade 316 stainless steel pipe plugs, and new label plates. The drive motor must be reconditioned to like-new condition with winding baking and megohmmeter testing. The contractor must perform minimum tests including rotational verification, operational testing (30-minute minimum run meeting ±5% performance tolerance), and hydrostatic testing at 50 PSIG for 15 minutes. The overhauled assembly must be painted with primer and machinery gray finish coat per MIL-PRF-24635 (5-9 mils total dry film thickness) and preserved in a sealed polyurethane bag with 24-28 ounces of desiccant for two-year storage protection. Final delivery must be to the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center in Baltimore, Maryland, with the contractor responsible for notification at least ten calendar days prior to readiness for Coast Guard Quality Assurance inspections, which will verify all testing, replacement parts, motor certification, coating, and packaging requirements per detailed marking and bar-coding standards.
