The Contractor shall indicate on each vehicle inspection report any visible damage or evidence of abuse that may result in a claim against the Govern-ment for damages considered to be in excess of normal wear and tear. The Government will assume full re-sponsibility for reconditioning the vehicle at its own expense, excluding normal wear and tear as defined in paragraph H-010. The Government will not be responsible for any damage not listed on the inspection report.

9.3 Only the warranted and authorized Government Contracting Officer may acknowledge liability on the part of the Government and authorize any payment resulting from misuse, and only after evaluating and considering all factors. Any disputes between the Contractor and Government concerning fair wear and tear shall be re-solved pursuant the FAR Clause 52.233-1, Disputes, which is incorporated in the contract.
9.4 Vehicles will be returned to the Contractor not later than 10 days after termination or expiration of the de-livery order for each vehicle. In the event that the Contractor does not arrive within one hour of the scheduled pick-up time, the Contractor is deemed to have taken possession of the vehicle. The Contractor shall then be-come responsible for the vehicle including but not limited to commercial storage charges for storage at commer-cial facilities, or for storage of more than five days on Government property.
