About this file
This is a Bid Bond form required by Napa County, California for contractors submitting bids on public works projects. The bond applies to the 2026 Annual Guardrail Repair project, which involves repairing damaged guardrails at 17 county roads and Dry Creek Bridge located at Dry Creek Road (MPM 5.59). An additive alternate bid includes the replacement of four crash cushions at St. Helena Highway. The contract award will be based on the lowest Base Bid price, which combines the guardrail repairs at both primary locations.
The Bid Bond must equal ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount and serves as a guarantee that the successful bidder will execute the required performance and payment bonds within the prescribed timeframe following contract award. The surety company issuing the bond must be a licensed insurer, and the principal contractor and surety must have their signatures notarized. In the event of litigation, the surety is responsible for all costs incurred by Napa County, including reasonable attorney's fees as determined by the court. The bond remains in full force until the contractor enters into a written contract and files the required performance and payment bonds with the Napa County Board of Supervisors Clerk.
