CABLE INSTALLATION AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR DATA AND TELEPHONE
Update after 2011, no more krone Ultim8 termination blocks install, all must termination on patch panel
Cable run:
· Each drop will consist of (3) white Berk-Tek (A NEXANS COMPANY) -( LANMARK-1000, CAT6a, CMP, UTP, WHTP) for data and (1) grey Berk-Tek or equivalent UTP,24 AWG, 4 pairs (Plenum to be used outside of conduit) for voice. All cable will be CATEGORY 6 Plenum rated
Termination:
· Provide and install white Krone 4 port faceplate at each drop location.
· Provide (3) orange Krone Cat-6 RJ-45 jacks for data and (1) white Krone or Leviton RJ-11 jack for voice to be terminated at each drop location. (Two data jacks on top and for bottom one data jacks on left side, one voice on right side.)
· Provide and install Patch Panel equivalent to a (TrueNet 66531677-48) 34 Port Patch Panel, CAT6A, Rack Mount, 2 rack mount spaces designed with rear 110 IDC
Data:
· Provide 34 Port Patch Panel, CAT6A for termination of data lines in the network closet. (Contact Nelson Dare (Ext 22924) or Michael Chan (Ext 24185) for closet location) All locations will be labeled with numbering scheme to VA specification and terminated then tested to IEEE EIA/TIA 568B industry standards with results provided. Cross connecting for activation will be done by IRMS.
Phone:
· Provide 66 block for termination of phone line. (Contact Michael Chan (Ext 24185) or Nelson Dare (Ext 22924) for closet location.) Activations will be done by IRMS.
All locations will be labeled with numbering scheme to VA specification and terminated then tested.
Numbering Scheme:
· Each jack (data/phone) will be labeled according to the current VA numbering standard and each location (faceplate) will require three (3) data on top and one (1) phone jacks on bottom right side.
Certification:
· Provide test results and certification on data and phone wiring in accordance with EIA/TIA standard.
