About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for IFB 163-01162025JR for Bus-Vehicle Parts issued by Charlotte Procurement Services on January 16, 2025. The document addresses questions related to bus vehicle parts procurement, including filters, batteries, and OEM parts. This appears to be the agency's initial procurement for a Bus-Vehicle Parts agreement, though no specific contract term is mentioned in the document.
The Q&A clarifies several key points: vendors should omit duplicate items in the filters section of the Cost Proposal Sheet, pricing for contract renewals is not required, authorization from manufacturers is required for OEM parts only, and vendors should only bid on parts they are authorized to supply. For batteries, while no specific brand preference is indicated, all batteries must meet the 1000 Cold Cranking Amp requirement. The document also clarifies that vendors who are not authorized to sell specific OEM parts should not bid on those particular items.

1. Is the requirement to have an authorized statement from the manufacturer pertaining to OEM parts only?
2. As a school bus dealer we are authorized to sell OEM parts for the manufacturer we represent. In the bid OEM parts are required by other bus manufacturers that we are not authorized to sell. We may have a source for the part, but we are not an authorized seller.
How will this be handled?
In the case of this bid, this would have to do with parts only.
If the vendor is not authorized by the manufacturer, then they put they are not authorized. If you, as the vendor, are not authorized to sell the OEM part, then you cannot sell the OEM part to. In that case, do not bid on that particular part. In that case, do not bid on that particular part. Bid on the parts you can supply.
