RFP 27-03 – Questions and Responses Question 1: Athletic and Recreational Facilities Regarding the turf and drainage for the athletic fields, is a full review required for future projections? If so, would a separate firm specializing in sports fields be required? Will a visual assessment without engineering or environmental testing be acceptable?
Response:
Maynard Public Schools does not have synthetic turf fields. The RFP requires a visual assessment of the natural-grass athletic fields and site drainage, including anticipated needs and planning-level costs. Engineering, environmental testing, and a separate sports-field specialist are not required. The proposed visual-review approach is acceptable.
Question 2: Accessibility Will an accessibility review limited to general observations under UFAS/Section 504 be acceptable if the consultant does not perform a comprehensive ADA assessment? Would the District need to engage a separate accessibility specialist?
Response:
The RFP requires general observations and identification of readily observable ADA accessibility deficiencies. It does not require a comprehensive ADA compliance audit or a separate accessibility consultant. The proposed visual-review approach is acceptable.
Question 3: RFP Delivery May the proposal be submitted by email directly to mresendes@maynard.k12.ma.us?
Response:
No. Section 5 requires the Technical Proposal and Price Proposal to be submitted in two separately sealed envelopes. Proposals may not be submitted by email.
