About this file
This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by Maynard Public Schools in Massachusetts for a comprehensive Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) and the development of a Twenty-Year Capital Improvement Plan covering all District-owned school facilities and associated site infrastructure. The District is seeking qualified consulting firms capable of evaluating the physical condition of its buildings and grounds, identifying capital needs, and creating a strategic long-term plan for facility improvements and maintenance. The proposal must include detailed assessments of structural integrity, mechanical and electrical systems, accessibility compliance, and site conditions across all school properties. Interested firms must submit proposals by the specified deadline, with the District planning to conduct site visits and a bidders' conference to allow proposers to examine facilities and clarify requirements. The successful consultant will be selected based on qualifications, experience with similar projects, and proposed methodology, with the contract term extending twenty years to align with the planning horizon.
Specific pricing terms, budget allocations, and funding sources should be detailed in the RFP document, along with any requirements for insurance, bonding, or professional certifications. The District may have established set-asides for minority-owned or women-owned businesses as applicable under Massachusetts procurement regulations. Award of contract will be contingent upon the selected firm's ability to deliver comprehensive assessment reports, capital planning documentation, and recommendations for phased improvements. The consultant's work product will serve as the foundation for the District's facility investment decisions over the twenty-year planning period and may inform future bond referendums or grant applications for capital funding.
