About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file related to a signage project for the Illinois Secretary of State's Department of Motor Vehicles (ILSOS DMV). The project involves two facilities located in Chicago: the Roger P. McAuliffe Illinois DMV Facility at 9901 Martin Luther King Dr and the Charles Chew Illinois DMV Facility at 5401 N Elston Ave.
The contract covers the procurement and installation of four non-illuminated signs using plastic lettering. Specific requirements include using Public Sans Bold font, mounting signs flush to the wall, and using plastic letters rather than acrylic. The signs will display facility names in a specified format, with the state clarifying that previous text capitalization was an error. The project includes both sign fabrication and installation, with no existing signage removal required. Thickness specifications were discussed, with ILSOS preferring plastic letters and potentially using 1" thick material or spacer options.
