About this file

This document is a Question and Answer document related to a Request for Proposals (RFP) for an Abandoned Mine Lands Geological Analysis contract issued by the State of Nevada's Division of Minerals. The RFP is for the analysis of mineral potential and abandoned mine sites across Nevada, primarily on federal lands. The contract will involve field work using four-wheel drive vehicles and ESRI mapping software provided by the Division. The RFP has a question deadline of March 8 and the State indicates there is no preference for selecting a single or multiple consultants. The State will be responsible for obtaining access to public and private lands for the work. Vendors may modify the provided cost schedule to include additional positions and charges for support equipment.

The cost schedule allows for the use of a qualified engineer as an alternative to a geologist. There is a 5-page limit on the qualifications section, which applies separately to the prime contractor and any subcontractors. The State will not be conducting mine stability analysis as part of this contract.
