PROJECT SPECIFIC PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS AND METHOD OF OPERATION

The Newark Board of Education will request competitive and/or direct assignment project specific proposals/quotes from firms awarded through this request for proposal. When the need for services arise, awarded contractors will be contacted to perform a site visit for generation of a project specific proposal. A site visit is required for generation of all proposals, and all proposals shall be provided free of charge. All proposals shall be provided via email, and itemized.

The contractor’s fee for tasks performed during the pre-design, design phase and for all technical and administrative tasks during the construction and close out phases such as the review of contractors’ submittals, preparation and distribution of minutes, on site supervision during construction, etc. will be a lump sum amount based on the itemized proposal.

When a fee proposal for a specific project is requested and reviewed, the hours of effort to perform specific tasks shall be considered in the evaluation. The hours will assist the District in understanding the

Should the District determine that an amendment to an original project assigned is necessary, the

The Architects/Engineers shall utilize the original project’s hourly rates. A description of the work to be performed, along with the names and titles of the persons performing the tasks, must be attached to the Amendment request.

From time to time during the term of the contract, the District may require the professional services of an additional discipline of sub-consultant beyond those disciplines listed above. NJSDA and classified by DPMC at the time they are proposed and approved by the District.
