Statement of Work Norfolk Naval Shipyard Audiovisual Upgrade: Bldg. 1500, Command Briefing Room

1. Objective:

Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) repairs, modernizes and inactivates our Navy’s warships and training platforms. The objective is to procure/install/program the necessary audio/video equipment upgrades to the Command Briefing Room (CBR) to enhance the environment and make capable for multi-functions such as command briefs, meetings, training, award ceremonies, monthly observant programs, promotion ceremonies, retirement ceremonies, change of command ceremonies and any other function that requires an auditorium. The CBR can seat up to 190 individuals.

2. Background/Introduction The CBR is intended to allow speakers, such as the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Commander, to present information to a larger audience that smaller conference rooms would not allow. The CBR is an asset that reflects positively on NNSY. Thus, it is important to update the existing and limited capabilities of the space. The goal is to bring an obsolete framework to a more contemporary state in order to increase communication and information dissemination. The goal is to replace the entire audiovisual system to include stage lighting and powered curtain tracks with state of the art equipment. As the need for more concise communication increases, this update to the facility will have a positive impact on all four focus areas of NNSY’s Strategic Framework which are, Infrastructure, Dependable Mission Delivery, People Development and Process Improvement and Innovation.
