A-1. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (PM) (Scheduled).

Perform maintenance on the above generators per the criteria listen below. PMs will be performed each calendar quarter (eg. 1st quarter: 1 Jan – 31 Mar) as scheduled by the contract POC. Four PMs will be performed during the year (three Minor PMs and 1 Major PM). Complete appropriate minor or major preventative maintenance checklist the day that the work is performed and provide checklist and any other relevant documentation to Shipyard POC.

The minor (quarterly) checks shall consist of checking the diesel generator as noted below.

1. Service/clean air filters

2. Perform air inlet restriction test

3. Check coolant level

4. Check ground connection

5. Check/adjust engine oil level

6. Check block heater operation

7. Check/adjust governor linkage/controls

8. Check/correct anti-freeze concentration

9. Check radiator for air restriction and dirt

10. Check engine gauges and metering for proper operation

11. Inspect exhaust system for leakage and deterioration

12. Inspect/adjust all accessible hoses, belts, and linkages

13. Inspect accessible fuel lines for leakage or deterioration

14. Check battery electrolyte levels and specific gravity

15. Clean battery terminals and check tightness of cables

16. Ensure battery charger is operating properly and record battery charging voltage

17. Adjust output voltage (450VAC) and frequency (60Hz) if required

18. Operate the diesel generator under load (200 kW) for a minimum of 30 minutes and check for proper operation. Running the diesel loaded must be coordinated with the Shipyard POC for the load bank. Shipyard will provide and operate the load bank. Check for fuel or coolant leaks, check and record voltage and frequency output, engine oil pressure, engine operating temperature, and check for unusual engine vibration.

13. Inspect accessible fuel lines for leakage or deterioration

14. Check and adjust valves

15. Check ground connection

16. Check block heater operation

17. Check/adjust governor linkage/controls

18. Check radiator for air restriction and dirt

19. Check engine gauges and metering for proper operation

20. Check tightness of mounting bolts and vibration isolators

21. Check engine and generator shutdown and alarm systems for proper operation

22. Flush cooling system

23. Grease main generator bearing

24. Remove, clean, and adjust magnetic pickup

25. Test fuel for water and algae/bacteria growth

26. Measure and record generator winding resistance

27. Vacuum/blow dust out of main generator (30psi max.)

28. Adjust output voltage (450VAC) and frequency (60Hz) if required
