About this file

This is a comprehensive state contract between the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) and Mercy Care for Integrated Healthcare Delivery Services. The contract covers the Comprehensive Medical and Dental Program (CHP) for children in foster care in Arizona, including those with Title XIX/XXI eligibility and non-Title XIX/XXI children with specific healthcare needs. The contract involves multiple agencies including AHCCCS (Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System), the Department of Economic Security, and involves coordination with tribal health programs, Indian Health Services, and various state healthcare and child welfare systems.

The contract requires Mercy Care to provide integrated physical and behavioral health services for foster children, including comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health coverage. Services span a wide range of healthcare needs, from preventive screenings and immunizations to specialized rehabilitative and mental health services. The contract is structured as a managed care model with specific performance measures and quality standards, including requirements for provider credentialing, network development, care coordination, and reporting. While specific financial terms are not detailed in the excerpt, the contract appears to be a capitated arrangement with potential performance-based incentives, and includes provisions for service authorization, claims processing, and ongoing quality management oversight by the state agencies.
