GOVERNMENT RESPONSES TO VENDOR SUBMITTED QUESTIONS 10.19.2016

1. When accounting for equipment lead times (approximately 4 - 6 weeks), upcoming end-of-year holidays, and the logistics effort required to ensure quality training, information assurance (IA) and project execution, would the

Government consider extending the period of performance?

Government Response: According to the required Project Master Schedule located in Paragraph 7.2.1 of the product description, the Government requires all installation and testing to be complete no later than 1 February 2017. As required by Addenda to 52.212-1 3) a) (ii), vendor’s shall provide milestones for completion in accordance with the required schedule (1 February 2017). The Government has considered the timeline for execution, and is not able to waiver from the required schedule. It is critical to the mission of the FRC East that this project be completed no later than 1 February 2017.

Questions 2 through 6 are all in reference to paragraph 5.18 of the specification: “The contractor shall extended fiber connectivity from the DMARC location room 149 to the telecommunications room 128 for the telephone/data equipment. The fiber connectivity shall be installed utilizing contractor provided wire management systems and ran above the ceiling.”

3. How many fiber strands?

Government Response: 12 strand fiber.

4. Type of fiber connectors desired? (SC,ST?)

Government Response: SC.

5. Purpose of fiber? Extend PRI/T-1’s? Without electronics or media converters of some type we will not be able to extend PRI/T-1’s. Is this for carrier use?

Government Response: The purpose of the fiber is to extend the T1’s from the entrance facility to the telecommunications room where the telephone switch will be located.

6. Is there a plan to have a copper feed from room 149 to room 128?

Government Response: At this time the Government’s position is that there is not a need for a copper feed between the two rooms.
