About this file

This is an indemnification document for a 2026 consultant engagement with the City of Lakeland Public Works - Facilities Maintenance Division in Florida. The document outlines the indemnification requirements and obligations for consultants engaged to provide services related to the Roof Replacement project at Fire Station 5. The consultant is required to be a qualified and experienced state-certified roofing contractor registered and licensed in the State of Florida. The indemnification clause establishes the consultant's responsibility to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Lakeland, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or resulting from the consultant's performance of work or any breach of the contract terms. This indemnification obligation extends to third-party claims, bodily injury, property damage, and any negligent or wrongful acts committed by the consultant or its employees during the project execution.

The indemnification requirements apply throughout the contract term and extend beyond project completion for any claims arising from the work performed. The consultant is required to maintain adequate insurance coverage as specified in the contract documents and to include the City as an additional insured on applicable policies. The consultant bears full responsibility for all work-related liabilities and assumes all risks associated with the roofing contractor services, including compliance with all applicable Florida state regulations and local building codes. These indemnification provisions are standard protective measures for the municipality and serve to transfer risk to the contractor performing the specialized roofing work at the fire station facility.
