STATEMENT OF WORK
Xerox ColorQube Printer
LEGISLATIVE AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS (LPA)
April 6, 2011
1. Introduction. This requirement is for the purchase of a Xerox ColorQube 9203 printer, accessories and maintenance support. The existing color printers are not designed to produce the high volume and quality of documents currently required by the DSCA’s Legislative and Public Affair (LPA) office and other directorates. In order to enable them to produce the quality documents required in an acceptable timeframe, a new printing capability must be implemented.
2. Background. The DSCA Legislative and Public Affair (LPA) office and other directorates are required to submit many different reports throughout the year. This process is even more demanding during the end and beginning of
Fiscal Years. DSCA has grown, increasing personnel and eliminating many common spaces previously used for multiple printing stations throughout the agency. The downsizing of the printing stations has increased the workload of the remaining stations. The sharing of printers, combined with the high volume of some divisions has had an adverse affect on all of the divisions that share the printing stations. A large print request sent by a single individual to an inefficient printer has caused decreased productivity for all of the divisions that share the printer. By implementing a single high speed station meant for only large printing requirements, the smaller printing stations will be able to maintain their availability to the remaining divisions.
