H92222-13-R-0007 Questions and answers Question 1: What is the ceiling type and height? For example, the ceiling might be 2x2 acoustic tiles, 9ft high over the finished floor.
Answer 1: 2x2 lay in tile, 10'3" AFF.
Question 2: How much height is above the ceiling to the deck above? For example, the space above the acoustic ceiling might be 3 feet of height though it is busy with ductwork, piping, and cable trays.
Answer 2: 4'3", and it is busy.
Question 3: Is the access to the space above the ceiling above possible? For example, the space above might not be accessible due to the sound isolation barriers on top of the acoustic tile ceiling
Answer 3: The space above is accessible, there are no sound barriers, insulation etc., only HVAC duct, cable tray, electrical conduit, etc.
Question 4: What kind of projection screens are being moved? Is there a part number? Is there a more detailed description such as wall mounted static screens or motorized electric ceiling recessed?
Answer 4: 3 each DRAPER DRA385126 SCREEN, 90"x144"
FOCALPOINT 16:10 BLACK-BACKED M1300 (BLACK)
Question 5: Two GFE LCD monitors are identified in the solicitation. The description is for an 80in diagonal while the provided part number, NEC E462, is for a 46in version. Is it correct to move forward assuming that the LCD monitor is a 46in unit?
Answer 5: Sharp Aquos, model # ABD120
Question 6: Solicitation calls for upgrading the five Sony BR(C)-300 cameras with 3G HD-SDI output cards. Based on the equipment specification and the assumption that the expectation is not to simply replace these cameras, it is understood then that the expectation is to install HD-SDI cards into these cameras. The Sony BRC-300 does not support an upgrade path for a native HD-SDI output. The closest native output using an interface card is SD-SDI. Are we to provide outboard scalers such as the AJA UDC or equivalent? This question is based on the specification for the Panasonic AW-H550 Live Switcher defined in the solicitation for use with the cameras.
This switcher will accommodate SD-SDI video, otherwise the question is do you want us to replace these cameras instead of upgrading?
Answer 6: The Panasonic AW-HS50 Compact Live Switcher will accept SD-SDI video in the following formats 480/59.94i and 576/50i. This is acceptable.
Question 7: The Solicitation calls for the re-configuration of the GFE X-Panel Control. X-Panel is a software application from Crestron, but no Crestron equipment is identified in the Solicitation. Is this reference instead to the Extron Matrix Switchers Control Program, Part Number 79-520-01?
Answer 7: The current GFE X-Panel Control is used to control the Extron 3200 Fiber Matrix switcher in Rm 110. We need this program modified to control the Extron Crosspoint 450, 16x16 switcher that will be used in Rm 115.
Question 8: There is a need for more microphones than there are AEC input cards unless I misunderstand the solicitation, hence the request for clarification on this point. Under the Switchers heading are instructions to replace nine normal input cards with AEC input cards. However, on the GFE equipment spreadsheet 9 AEC input cards are shown as being available in Rm 115. Each AEC input card handles up to two inputs. From the solicitation we count a total of 31 microphone inputs to the system. This number of inputs would need more AEC input cards for a total of 16 cards. If this is the case another problem arises in that a single AudiaFlex chassis can only accommodate up to 12 cards. Additional chassis can be linked together over an isolated, dedicated audio (CobraNET) network, but it is not apparent from the equipment list if the GFE chassis is so equipped nor does the solicitation identify this course of action as an option. Additionally the audio signal paths for the program sources and VTC CODEC will also need to be accommodated in the card/cardframe layout
Answer 8: We have a total of 31 audio inputs. 30 of them will need to go into AEC cards. Room 115 has two AudiaFlex frames. There are 11 AEC cards, 5 normal input cards, and 7 output cards. We will need 4 normal input cards replaced with AEC cards. 1 normal input card will go in the current spare slot. Final configuration: 16 AEC cards, 1 normal card, 7 output cards.
