16. There seems to be a contradiction here. The solicitation indicates that the manufacturer will disassemble and reassemble the systems furniture and the moving of disassembled systems will be part of the SOW. F.7 SYSTEMS FURNITURE

The scope of this contract includes reconfiguring or moving large quantities of systems furniture. The Contractor will not attempt to disassemble or reassemble the systems furniture without specific authorization from the government. If the government elects to have the systems furniture manufacturer disassemble and reassemble the systems furniture, the Contractor may be required to move the disassembled systems furniture to the new location for reassembly by the systems mailto:patrick.dillon@gsa.gov mailto:tia.scott@gsa.gov furniture manufacturer. The disassembled systems furniture will be treated as a normal work requirement within the meaning of this SOW.

Response: Systems furniture that is under warranty must be disassembled and reassembled by a authorized or certified systems furniture contractor, for the furniture in question. For systems furniture that is not under warranty, the agency may elect to require that the move involve a authorized or certified systems furniture contractor. For systems furniture that is not under warranty, the agency or GSA may elect to authorize the Move Contractor to disassemble and reassemble and move systems furniture.

The SOW indicates that the government will have electronic equipment disconnected and reconnected. Computer room equipment (Servers, UPS, server racks, etc.) usually require NET App certified engineers. See below from the

SOW:

C.9.1. The Contractor shall disassemble property when necessary for safe and efficient transportation, as determined by the ordering agency. The Contractor shall reassemble property after transporting to the new location. This requirement does not include tasks requiring specialized technical, mechanical, electrical or plumbing skills.

C.9.2. The Government will arrange to have electronic equipment disconnected and disassembled at origin then reconnected and reassembled at the destination.

Response: There is no requirement for a NET App Certified Engineer. Section H.7 of the solicitation requires an A+ Certification for Computer Service Technicians involved in assembling, disassembling, and moving computer equipment, cables, or network devices.
