1. As a result of this amendment, the offer receipt date and time is extended and due Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.

2. Attached are GSA’s responses to all remaining questions received from contractors, ‘Questions and Answers #2’

Questions and Answers #2

1.) Q: Fiber specification references Fusion Splice and MTP cassette, what do you prefer?

A: MTP is required for all fiber per SECTION 27 10 00. Page 6 C3.

2.) Q: Specifications reference a voice riser- will this be included?

A: No ISDN voice riser will not be required- all data cat 6. Per T400.1

3.) Q:Drawing T102 indicates where cables will be run either auxiliary room or comm room; however some path lines indicate otherwise?

A: If path lines do not exceed 295 feet- this will be acceptable. The preference is to have area grouped together and not exceed any limitations.

4.) Q: Drawing T101 Judges chambers to right call for a C-3D outlet, this is specified as surface mount with wire mold. If this can be snaked in the wall, as it appears it can be,will wire mold be required?

A: Cables installed inside the walls is preferred- if an exterior wall is all masonry or unable to gain access- then the wire-mold will be used. Drawing legend on T000 indicates C as surface mounted where exterior walls in the event the contractor is unable to gain access.

5.) Q: On the second floor T102 and other pages where notes states: add 2 (or 3) D to existing voice outlet? Please clarify what this note indicates?

A: At these locations we will require 2 or 3 data cables and use the existing voice location- note: the voice cables and ISDN lines will not be removed in this contract. T102

6.) Q: On the Copper Riser Diagram drawing T400 it shows 2 cable risers from the Level 2 IDF Patch Panel. One of which is broken on level 3 the other shows it straight up to the 7th floor server room. Please explain the significance if any.

A: This is to create a redundant back-up system.

7.) Q: One of the copper riser paths from Level 2 to the 7th floor Server room looks like it might exceed the 295' max distance.

A: The Copper riser from 2 to seven will not exceed the 295 feet.

8.) Q: Are the racks and ground buss bars already existing in the auxiliary IDF and IDF closets on level 2? If not please specify the type of rack, ground bus bar and ground wire including the patch for the ground wire.

A: Yes, in SOW and Specifications, please see Section 5. Instillation Details: “5.9 All Ground Bus Bars have already been installed.”

9.) Q: The SOW refers to 4 phases, however the drawings show up to 6 phases, please clarify?

A: This work shall be bundles per T001 phase plan. The actual phasing will be coordinated with tenants and the winning contractor.

10.) Q: In the SOW, Page 43, Section C, Item 2 it states that the the wall boxes shall be Double Gang steel boxes with a single gang steel mud ring. This would only work if we were to open an a section of the wall back to the adjacent stud, Secure the box to the stud so that its flush with the back of the drywall and then install the mud ring.

A: The drawings indicate there are no new double gang steel boxes- the only new boxes are surface mount with wire mold.

11.) Q: We noticed in about 10 locations the new communications outlets are to be installed on the exterior wall of the main building. Are we to assume that these locations are not fishable inside the wall cavity, thus requiring metallic wiremold raceway to a surface mount box?

A: It is preferred that cables are run inside all walls if the contractor is able. In the event these 10 exterior walls are solid block walls, then wire-mold will be used.

12.) Q: Many existing data cables are run loose to RJ-45 blocks above Judge’s benches and existing courtrooms, how will they need to be terminated when new?

A: All new cables shall be placed into new standard termination box and stubbed below the raised floor-properly fastened to the structure. (Assume twenty five existing loose termination blocks).

13.) Q: Drawings indicate a travel path to locations of each outlet. If alternate path is available, can the installation contractor use discretion with the path of travel?

A: Yes the contractor will be able determine the path of travel, as long as it is concealed- the drawings are only a proposed path.

14.) Q: What is the existing framing constriction of the closed ceiling in the garage where a new access panel is proposed?

A. This is comprised of 16 gauge T channel 16" on center suspended from the steel above.

15.) Q: Clerk’s office on the Ground floor has two sections of cubicles that are fled from an existing walker-duct system- will this be reused.

A: The winning contractor will be responsible for installation of power-poles to run the data only to the two sections of cubicles.

16.) Q: Some data outlets were run to a switches and then data cables run under the Judges Bench- how will this be handled?

A: The new data outlets will be run under the bench as shown on the drawings- existing wall outlets shall receive blank plates once removed.

17.) Q: Wireless access point located in center of ceiling in the North and South Courtrooms on the second floor will need to be replaced- how will they be accessed?

A: Contractor can use the existing wires as pull cables- Contractor will be responsible for removal of splined ceiling to gain access as required. GSA will provide new ceiling tiles.

18.) Q: Will contractor be responsible for providing patch panels?

A: Yes, in SOW and Specifications, please see Section 3 General:“3.4 Contractor shall be responsible for complete instillation of all new tele/data outlets/cable trays and patch panel and demolition of existing cables and testing of all new cables.”

19.) Q: Would another cabling manufacturer other than what is specified be considered for use?

A. Section 27 10 00 Page 3 sec 3 States the acceptable cabling systems manufacturer.
