About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation FP1024054, which addresses clarifications on the construction of a 40' x 60' prefabricated metal building at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The Q&A file contains seven questions and corresponding responses that provide technical guidance on project requirements and specifications.

Key clarifications include: intumescent coating is not required on spray foam as walls do not need to be fire-rated per the International Building Code; liner panels are not required per the Statement of Work; silt fence requirements and maintenance are referenced in SOW Section 1.04.G with location details on plan sheet CS101; spoils from excavation may be placed on an adjacent lot northeast of the construction site or as directed by the ASRC Construction Manager; concrete mix requirements for drives and sidewalks are specified in Appendices B and C; tree removal is permanent with no replacement requirement; and Metal-Clad (MC) cable is permitted for electric unit heaters only, while outlets and light fixtures must use standard conduit as specified in the SOW. These responses provide offerors with essential technical details necessary for accurate proposal development and cost estimation.

1Will intumescent coating be required to be applied on the spray foam for this project? The Walls do not need intumescent coating. The IBC does not require the walls to be fire rated.

3What are the silt fence requirements? Will there be an erosion control plan? Are there any inlets that will need to be protected?Refer to SOW, Section 1.04.G for silt fence requirements. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining the silt fence during duratin of this project and ensure that it remains in place after a storm event. The silt fence will need to be repaired, placed back after a weather event. Refer to plan sheet CS101 Conceptual Site Plan for location of storm drain manholes. No inlets on the job site.

7Can MC (metal clad cable) be used for devices located in the ceilings and walls or is it required to be all conduit?Metal-Clad (MC) cable can be used for the electric unit heaters. But outlets and light fixtures are to be standard conduit as specified in the SOW
